Dreaming People Embroidered into Pillows

Maryam Ashkanian, an Iranian artist living the UK, presents the Sleep Series, a collection of pillows with the images of sleeping people sewed directly into the surface. It is an expression of the mysteries of the dream world. Ashkanian explains:

Dream is such a window open to a board universe. In dreaming we are observes who stare into the farthest most terrible wonderful and coming back to the real world achieving exclusive experiences. Images of us in dreams are revealed in the right truest evidence; an original icon which introduces us to the peripheral world wildly. Pillow is a metonymy of a dream; as a canvas embraces the next of body.

No doubt this is how plenty of serial killers got their start. Soon, pillows won't be good enough and she'll feel the need to start stitching real human skin into her clothing... Keep an eye out for a pit being dug in her basement, and bulk purchases of skin lotion.
