The Apple-1 is generally considered to be a holy grail of the computer world, both in terms of historical importance and value to collectors, but some people just don’t see what all the fuss is about when it comes to computing.
A woman recently dropped off an Apple-1 computer to the CleanBayArea computer recycling center, found while cleaning out her house after her husband died, and the center was able to sell the unit to a private collector for a cool $200,000.
The Apple-1 is one of about 50 units still in existence which were built by Steve Jobs, Rob Wayne and Steve Wozniak back in 1976.
A similar unit sold for a whopping $900,000 at auction last year, so I'm guessing she didn't bother to check the value online before dropping it off like so much scrap.
