Abdul Rashid Bhat of the town of Budgam in northern India went to the trouble of registering his cow to take a college entrance exam. Passing the test would qualify the cow to enter the Government Degree College at Bemina. This was a great opportunity for the cow to build a prosperous career.
Alas, the foolish cow didn't even show up, let alone pass the test. The Times of India reports:
A Budgam resident, who managed to get hall ticket for his Brown Cow to write a professional entrance examination, on Sunday did not turn up with the bovine for the paper at the allocated centre here, saying he only wanted to convey a message about the "flaw" in the system.
"I only wanted to convey a message to the authorities about the flaw in the system. I never wanted to make a mockery of the system," Abdul Rashid Bhat, the owner of the now-famous cow, told PTI.
It's a shame that the cow threw away a chance that so many other cows never get.
