Thirteen Horrifying Ideas America Had For Invading Cuba

Relations between the U.S. and Cuba seem to be getting back on track after more than fifty years of distrust and bitterness between the two nations, but not so long ago America had big plans for Cuba.

These plans generally involved intimidating, harassing and undermining the Cuban government into submission by using psychological warfare to turn Cubans against Castro.

The American government came up with all kinds of odd ideas, like doctoring photos to make Castro look like a fat glutton, terrorizing the country with sonic booms and multicolored rain, and dropping one way tickets to Mexico so Cuba's citizens could flee en masse.

Luckily global relations won out, and the American government decided not to carry out most of these poor spirited plans so they wouldn't come off looking like the bad guy.
