Man's Wallet Returned after 14 Years with More Money in It Than When Lost

Pictured above is Ivica Jerkovic of Donja Moticina, Croatia. 14 years ago, he lost his wallet. He remembers that it had about 2,000 German marks inside. That would be worth about 1,000 Euros. Last week, someone anonymously mailed the wallet back to him. Inside was 1,500 Swiss francs, which is worth about 1,440 Euros. Jerkovic was overjoyed. He suspects that the person who had his wallet needed the money at the time, but is now better off and can afford to repay it. The AFP reports:

"I believe that this money saved him and for years he was calculating how much he should return to me. Otherwise, I don't know why he would keep the wallet for all those years!"

"I call on him to contact me. He is the best personal banker in Croatia," joked Jerkovic.
