Some people like to live unconventionally, bucking tradition and creating new "rules"
for themselves as they go along. A number of such personalities are embracing the idea of ink on their fingers to signify their marital statuses, rather than metal and jewels. There are things to be said for going that route: it is less expensive (provided it never has to be removed) and there are no limits in terms of original design.
