Barry had become The Flash way before he had a costume, because he loved to run past people and show off his birthday suit. He started out as The Flasher in high school, but when he turned his nude hobby into a full time obsession he dropped the -er because it sounded cooler. One day Barry was running nude through the lobby of the famous Star labs when he saw a blinding flash of light- an explosion zapped him and gave him the power to run faster than any man alive, and that's when his cool new name really stuck!
