Legend has it that the woman who catches the wedding bouquet thrown by the bride will be the next one to get married.
That obviously hasn't worked for Salt Lake City resident Jamie Jackson. She's caught 46 wedding bouquets since 1996 and is still single to this day. But don't worry about her - Jackson is after something a lot bigger than a man: she wants to bag a Guinness World Records.
So, how does one catch that many wedding bouquet? "It is something that you have to plan for and you have to be very strategic where you place yourself," Jackson said to KSL, "My strategy is to be right up in the front because a lot of times the brides don’t know how far they are going to throw it. A lot of times it will hit a ceiling, it’ll hit a chandelier... I’ve had many, many catches where I’ve had to jump for it. And I’ve hit little kids by accident."
Jackson has kept all of her bouquets and proudly displays her catches in a glass cabinet. All are labeled with the wedding details and year.
"I’m proud to say that out of all 46 wedding bouquets I’ve caught, there have only been two divorces out of 46," she said to KSL. "I consider myself a good luck charm."
