Poorly-Phrased Headline Calls for the Blood of the Irish

It's not as bad as the researchers who called for the blood of female virgins, but the headline editor of The Irish Times might have done a better job. Or, if he was acting out of a sense of Irish nationalism, he did a perfect job. This August 8, 2014 article explains that the British need more blood of types common in Ireland. They have a modest proposal to offer their Irish neighbors.

I'm B+ and have had a couple of short-notice calls..."Can you get to the blood donor centre in the next half hour" sort of call. I'm not Irish, though I have a fair bit of scot in me, which may account for it.
