Shannon Holt is an artist in Orlando, Florida. She's a master of body painting who is able to use the human skin as a canvas, building shapes and forms you'd never expect.
One recent series is particularly striking. Holt painted images of 9 wild animals of Florida onto models. You can view the rest here. (Content warning: artistic nudity.)
Holt started her artistic career as a muralist. But she's found a strong market in body painting, so it's become her specialty. She told the Daytona Beach News-Journal:
“Subjects go from kind of kitsch art all the way to fine art,” said Holt, who earned a double major in painting and art education at Tyler. “You can have a really beautiful work that transforms the body into a human sculpture or abstract piece that touches on art history, or is a master copy of an Italian Renaissance painting.”
Since her first naïve forays into people painting, she has ditched acrylics for paints designed specifically for the human body.
