Finn awoke from a dream full of the desire to paint what he saw on the other side of sleep, so he grabbed Jake's paint set and started adding stroke after stroke to the canvas. The dream seemed to be guiding his hand, helping him bring his midnight journey through the land of Ooo to life, and when he was done he shared it, along with the story behind the painting, with the rest of the Candy Kingdom. Some citizens were impressed, others just didn't have an eye for art, but the Princess fell so deeply in love with the painting that she had it framed and hung up in the castle, so everyone could see how important it is to let your dreams run free!
