Spam emails can sometimes paint a pretty vivid picture, whether warning you about some imaginary activity happening to your account or telling a sob story about all the hardships the sender is currently experiencing.
Spammers try to tell a tale that will convince you to send money, or personal information, basically trying to successfully scam you out of your hard earned dough with storytelling.
Photographer Cristina De Middel saw the stories being told by Nigerian business opportunists, Russian widows awaiting a massive inheritance, or British cancer victims looking for help donating their riches, and decided to bring them to life in pictures.
The spam emails that inspired Cristina's photo series Poly-Spam are posted alongside the images on her site, so you can better understand what these poor fake people are going through in each picture. I'll never look at a spam email the same way again!
