The Archaeology of an Old Purse

(Gemma Correll)

What's in the purse? Not even Indiana Jones is reckless enough to excavate the unearthly horrors that lie beneath the surface of receipts. Rather than incur the curse, it's best to just leave the old purse alone.

Many years ago I needed to bleed a radiator in a elderly relative's house. I couldn't find a radiator key...and Mujm asked what one looked like.
I described one, and she said "Oh, there's one in my handbag."
I asked her why...and she said that it'd been there for years - moving from bag to bag. She didn't know why... it just sort of lived there.
