The Great Tapestry of Scotland

In the same vein as the Bayeux Tapestry, a group of over a thousand Scottish stitchers have embroidered the history of Scotland on 160 panels, making The Great Tapestry of Scotland the longest such embroidery in the world.

Author and textile designer Kate Davies posted photographs of the details of the panels, along with commentary. Links to other posts in the series are at the bottom of her first post.

The Great Tapestry of Scotland is on display now through September 13th at the Scottish Parliament. See the panels in their entirety in this slideshow. -via Metafilter
