CGP Grey explains who’s related to you and how, using a family tree. Have you ever heard of grand aunts? Me, neither, but if we were to use such a term, it would make sense. We just don’t. If you find it hard to keep up, Grey has all this in text at his blog. And while his explanation of cousins is useful, Grey fails to include the most important part of the in-laws group: the stepchildren. While all your new spouse’s other relatives are your in-laws, his/her children are now your step-children. And looking upward in the blended family tree, I know way too many people who confuse father-in-law with stepfather. My stepson-in-law does that. -via Viral Viral Videos
