"Mind-Reading" Prosthetic Limb DEKA Approved For Sale In U.S.

Well, you can tell your friends and family who still refuse to use a computer, smartphone, tablet or any other piece of technology more complicated than a television that the future is here- we now have prosthetic limbs that can be "controlled with your mind".

The DEKA arm has officially been approved by the FDA for sale in the United States, and some very happy recipients will soon have their lives changed by this advanced prosthetic technology, which reacts to muscle movements much like a real arm would.

Creation of the DEKA arm was funded by DARPA and overseen by Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, who has nicknamed the arm "Luke".
