How Many Bad Movies Have You Seen?

The other day we asked how many classic movies you’ve seen from a list of 200 at Buzzfeed. Now there’s another list of 170 movies that most folks consider pretty bad. How many have you seen? There are a few on the list that I’ve only seen because I posted an article about them. Some are so comically bad that we watch them as comedies, even though that wasn’t the original intent, as any MST3K fan will tell you. The only one that made me walk out of a theater was Howard the Duck, although I have fallen asleep in a theater during a few (Zardoz comes to mind). I’ve managed to avoid most of the newer ones. Eddie Deezen expressed surprise that he was only in one of them. And there is probably a movie or two in here that you loved, even if others didn’t. -via Eddie Deezen

24 of 170 here. Some I have seen and agree with totally, especially "The Conqueror" starring John Wayne. I am a big Duke fan, but there was never any role miscast as badly as the lead role in this movie!

Some of these are just popcorn comedies that did their job well enough, or were even meant to be hokey. Meanwhile, I don't see my top travesties like The Crow: Wicked Prayer, Eragon, or the hell that is Sucker Punch. Pardon me, I just threw up in my mouth a little.

44. Yes, 44. But there are movies on that list that fall under the so bad it's good banner, and some that are not great movies but are still fun late at night with a bowl of popcorn. I've watched Ghost Rider several times, The League of Extraordinary Gentleman a couple of times. I watched Nothing But Trouble mostly for Digital Underground; I'll just buy the music from now on.

Some of these, despite being bad, should be sat through once, like Zardoz and Plan 9 from Outer Space.

28. What I observe:
1) If it has Robin Williams or Adam Sandler, it's probably a bad movie. Let us pray those two never make a movie together;
2) I must be the only person who liked Lady in the Water and Godzilla;
3) Worst movie I've ever seen was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (only made it through about 15 minutes). It deserves to be on the list.

I got 17. At least half of the titles I don't even recognise and I suspect quite a few never made it out of North America. I'm in Europe so probably would never have had the chance to see them. Can't understand why Waterworld gets such a bad press - I thought it was worth watching, not a classic certainly, but OK.

47. Reefer Madness, Glen or Glenda and Plan 9 From Outer Space are classic bad - they should be on a must watch list. I saw Santa Claus Conquers the Martians as a new release when I was 7. My dad took us and fell asleep half-way through - snoring like crazy. Really embarrassing. When I told that story to my daughters, they made me watch it with them. What goes around - no way I could make it through - fell asleep myself. . .

50, although that's probably plus or minus 1 or 2. I can never remember is I watched a few on these.
Oh, and since they edited them down, I'm not sure about a big chunk of the start of the list that I watched on MST3K over the years.
I did see several in the theaters over the years though (like Howard the Duck, Highlander 2: The Sickening and Glen or Glenda, as I recall) so hopefully that evens things out.
