Baseball Scoreboard Proposals

Today is Opening Day for the 2014 MLB season, and that means that tickets will be sold across the country, and all eyes will be on the scoreboard, at least off and on, throughout the day. Some of those scoreboards will be occasionally lit up for a proposal to a ticket holder who we hope is not in the restroom at the time. Most stadiums offer that service for a price.

Though all proceeds go to charity, exactly what’s offered in a proposal package varies tremendously from ballpark to ballpark — some teams even offer multiple price points. The Indians’ fireworks proposal could be the most romantic option, but the Phillies’ four-ticket package is a surprisingly good value. Of course, if you’re feeling thrifty, you could always tuck a ring in your pocket, wait for a pitching change, then pop the question the old-fashioned way. Here’s hoping that — either way — you don’t strike out.

Swimmingly has a list of what’s included for the price at each Major League stadium for the 2014 season. However, if proposing by scoreboard is so common that there’s a price list, maybe it’s not as special as you may think. But hey, it’s much easier than editing a film or coming up with your own choreography. -via Digg
