Although tabres would have been perfectly justified to build the car for himself, he actually made it for his nephew. He started with a $5 Cozy Coupe off Craigslist, which he then completely disassembled. After priming and painting the surface white, he added a grill and tail lights with tape and airbrushed paint.
Tabres purchased the battery-powered police lights online and printed out the license plate on sticker paper. The roof rack is made of PVC piping and the blue tubing is electrical conduit. Overall, it was an inexpensive but well-executed project.
