Randall Munroe has gathered a whole bunch of events and made gifs showing how frequently they happen. You’ll have to go to xkcd to see it in action. While you might find yourself wasting too much time waiting for someone to land a hole-in-one or for an earthquake to occur, it's much more fascinating to compare two at a time, like how three people are diagnosed with cancer for every one that dies of cancer -but both are way too frequent. And about the only thing that happens more frequently than someone getting married is your heartbeat. Do fishermen really catch that many sharks? The comic is, shall we say, hypnotic.
