Sculptures made out of found objects are totally green, as in eco-friendly, but they usually end up looking like a pile of trash arranged in an artful manner. But these assemblage bust sculptures by Freya Jobbins are definitely not artfully arranged trash, they’re action figure fantastic and covered in colorful details, courtesy of the plastic dolls used to make each piece.
From an assortment of Barbie faces creating a surreal scalp to little heads, ears and feet poking out all over the place, these figures are creepy to look at yet make you feel like poring over the surface to figure out which body parts were used in each area. And unlike the Darth Vader bust we featured here on Neatorama a few years back these busts are meant to possess humanistic qualities which add to the unnerving quality of each piece.
