Sometimes it’s hard to work through a serious case of writer’s block, when you’re clackity-clacking on the keyboard turns into a nerve wracking silence only a librarian could love. What is there to do while you’re sitting at your keyboard, or typewriter, waiting for your creative brain to start clicking again?
Take a hint from artist Pablo Gamboa Santos (no relation) and start stringing those letters together into wordy works of art. Pablo types out overlapping letters which, slowly but surely, take the form of images like Gertie the Dinosaur, the Venus De Milo and the Statue of Liberty, each one standing atop a slowly spreading letter landscape. He calls the series qwerty project.
