Standing Tree Desk

Using a standing desk is allegedly healthier than using a sitting desk. Andrew Quitmeyer’s Standing Tree Desk improves upon that concept by placing you out in nature. Why be confined to a cubicle when you can work in the wild?

It can also be helpful in certain work environments. While doing research in a jungle in Panama, Mr. Quitmeyer found it hard to work on a laptop computer. His options were sitting on the ground or using a truck tailgate. He wants something more adjustable and suitable for a standing position, and so built this rig.

He used a laser cutter on plywood to build a design that he found on Thingverse. Mr. Quitmeyer added ratchet straps. You can build your own that easily and attach it to a tree. Or, if you’re stuck in an office, an intern.
