Vincent Kartheiser, the American actor best known for playing Pete Campbell on Mad Men, commissioned this unique bed for his apartment. He hired Funn Roberts to design and build it.
Mr. Roberts, a master blacksmith and cabinetmaker, made a bed that lowers from the ceiling. It’s like a Murphy bed, but it makes use of extra ceiling space to stay out of the way. A retractable curtain closes it off from the rest of the apartment. You can view more photos of the bed here.
