Somewhere between the time I graduated and the present, schools stopped teaching how to render or decipher Roman numerals. Either that, or this sign maker had to go to the dentist that day. This unidentified sign was posted to reddit today, but the original post from a year ago has comments that discuss and explain how to read and write Roman numerals in depth. In case you are wondering, the class of 2015, which my older daughter belongs to, would be MMXV.
MMXV instead of 2o4(?) and yes, that is a letter "o" in the middle.
The Romans didn't even have a numeral for zero.
It was a very educational day for me about Roman numerals AND about myself.
