Harpa: Iceland’s Opera House

This asymmetrical glass building on the oceanfront in Reykjavík, Iceland, is the Harpa. Mike Powell of For 91 Days likens it to a shimmering iceberg on the shore. The huge opera house was built with funds from private investors -that is, until 2008, when the financial crisis halted all construction. Then the government took over the project and completed it in 2010. Now the opera house is open free to the public every day, and the views from inside all that glass are stunning. Read more about it and see a collection of pictures of the The Harpa at Iceland For 91 Days.
