Sure, in the 1900s, people were more accepting of those with differences, but as Curtis Tiegs shows in this poster, if the X-Men took place in the 1800s, mutants would almost certainly be circus stars. Crime fighting circus stars... now that's a show I'd pay 10 cents to see.
