Jim Arnold, a custom chess set maker in Ronda, North Carolina, crafted this set inspired by the August 19, 1812 battle between the USS Constitution and HMS Guerriere. That was one of the few American naval victories during the war and the battle in which America's revered "Old Ironsides" earned her sobriquet.
