The 70s. Before that, I don't recall cans at all, because we drank soda pop out of bottles. My family didn't buy any, but everyone else bought glass bottles, and returned them to the store when they picked more up. There was a 2 cent deposit on each bottle, so we kids would scour the roadsides for free money.
