Thief Leaves His Birth Certificate at the Scene of His Crime

If you're a thief and you want to make sure that you can be positively identified, then leave your birth certificate at the feet of your victim. According to police in Dorchester, Massachusetts, that's what one mugger did. He took a woman's wallet but left behind a bag containing his birth certificate and a letter from his mother. Police tracked down the suspect:

Several hours later, officers stopped a man fitting the victim’s description of the alleged robber. The man told the officers he was John Foisy from Connecticut and that he was 20 years old, according to police.

The victim positively identified the man as the robber and the officers arrested him.
