I'll disagree with you on that one. If you've learned a trade by the end of high school, you're in better shape than many four-year university graduates.

If you graduate from high school without mastering reading, writing, and complex math, you've wasted your time.

Or at least one of those two. If you graduate from a four-year university without the ability to either write decently well or do complex math, you've been scammed.

Two most important subjects to master: English and mathematics.
Without them, you'll forever be on the outside.
