The Tongue-Mounted Toothbrush

Think about where your hands have been today. Why would you use them to clean your teeth? This invention by Adel Elseri and Said Fayad abandons the common toothbrush design for a radical new one. The two inventors recently demonstrated their tongue-mounted toothbrush on a Canadian TV show:

“You don’t use your hands, hygiene is key,” Elseri told producer Priscilla Sreedharan during his pitch.

The 26-year-old boilermaker said he was driving home from a 12-hour shift working in Fort McMurray when he was struck with the idea for a device to help people who are on the go freshen their mouths and clean their teeth. He’s now developed a prototype for T2T, which stands for Tongue To Teeth. The device slips over a person’s tongue, has a coating of toothpaste, and can be used to clean the inside of one’s mouth.

My hands never touch the bristles of my tooth-brush, just the handle and the toothpaste tube. It looks like your hands would directly touch this thing to get it on your tongue.

That said, I'm not paranoid about my hands anyway. But if you are really worried about it wash your hands with soap and hot water for 45 seconds prior to brushing and you'll be fine.

What's their solution for hamburgers and hot dogs?

Or you could use them for uh... naughty fun time.
I don't see them working as toothbrushes though, I can't really reach my back teeth very well with my tongue.

The T2T is for on the go convenience, airplane, car, school, office and any other place that you DO NOT have your toothbrush, toothpaste and running water! the packaging allows for installation of the device onto the tongue without being contaminated. you have all missed the train on this one, the fact that you have not realized you can maintain your oral hygiene to a better standard is surprising.

Yep, they can be. : ) Reactions to said items *can* also be influenced by comments (likely) made by above co-inventor which can be construed as insulting and alienating when directed to a potential customer base.

Alex compared to Colgate wisp it is more effective and discreet. appeal isn't necessarily important compared to functionality, we will be utilizing the power of the tongue in its own environment so you will be able to reach all over with more ease that a tiny finger sized brush that would probably have saliva all over your fingers and create an opportunity for cross contamination.
