We don't know if the Sharif don't like this, but we do! Shepard Fairey, he of the iconic OBEY and Obama "Hope" posters, created this extremely rare silkscreen print on wood panel of The Clash's Rock the Casbah. If you want one, you're out of luck - one of the only two prints ever made was sold for US$18,400: Link

You are correct, sir. It is Sharif. Although some lyric sites post it as Sharia. The reputable ones say Sharif. I stand corrected. But I did not shot the deputy.(Lame, I know.)

Like I mentioned in the comment above, it's the headgear of the wrong continent. I don't think he lifted it specifically from Air India's mascot, however, as that's a pretty iconic image of any Maharaja.

Wrong headgear for the region, definitely. Or Fairey could be playing to the line "you have to let that raga drop" with raga referring to a type of melody in Indian music. Maybe that's giving him too much credit though.

I actually think it's Sharif, as in Arabian king (not sheriff).

Good find, Joe. Seriously, someone needs to introduce the boy to a world map. He's ripping off the wrong cultural stereotype. 2 offenses in one.
