In 1959, Bob Timm and John Wayne Cook took off from the Las Vegas airport in a Cessna 172 for the longest airplane flight of their lives. Or anyone's life! They stayed aloft for for 64 days, 22 hours, and 19 minutes, a record that has never been broken. They remained in the general area of Las Vegas the entire time, flying low to grab hoses from speeding vehicles to refuel and get supplies. And they did it to publicize a hotel! All in all really impressive...
just remember this is more than 40 times the distance of lindberg's trans-atlantic flight...
I think this is now my favourite record in the history of flight...
