Game of Thrones as a Seinfeld Sitcom

-Youtube Link-

Combining two of my favorite TV shows ever, Seinfield and Game of Thrones, would seem like a good idea. Well, no actually, it wouldn't. As much as I like Seinfield, I sort of hate the brand of Sitcom television it created. That being said I loved the video, they nailed it with the laugh track and everything. It's funny how different these scenes feel just because of the addition of the laugh track.

Pushing 23 in a few days actually. Curb and Seinfeld are inevitably related as they are both creations of Larry David. I do have to agree with you on the point that 90% of all sitcoms are junk. I would argue, however, that Seinfeld did at least popularize the brand "TV shows about nothing" - something the Seinfeld was billed on for a long time. It reminds me of how The Office (UK) or Arrested Development popularized the mocumentary type show.

"Seinfeld" didn't create any brand of "sitcom television." There has never been a show, with the exception of "Curb...", that can be even remotely compared to its sensibility. What a comment like that is exposing is a lack of historical perspective (TV-wise) (and the fact that maybe 90% of all sitcoms—ever—are/were junk), and, very probably, the commentator’s age (let me guess...hovering around thirty, or younger?)
