Before Gotye got all weepy with his hit song Somebody That I Used To Know he had a dub sound without all that sappy singing in a song called Seven Hours With A Backseat Driver.
The sound is so different that it's hard to see how Gotye got to where he is today, and when Ivan Dixon and Greg Sharp of Rubber House Studio heard it they imagined a town full of animals acting the fool, and a bowtie clad elephant who doesn't know what to do...

Yes, clearly not a Goyte fan...
This is not the oldest of Goyte songs, and in fact is part of his Album 'Like Drawing Blood'. If you listened to his music in full, you'd realise he's extremely diverse and loves playing with electrical sounds. On the same album you'll find the song "Hearts a Mess" which, like 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has the same, as you call it.. 'weepy' sounds.
Fact is, his sounds ranges far and wide. Being an Aussie I guess I know this because he's been big here for yyyyeeeeeaaaaarrrrrsss, long before 'Somebody that I used to know' made it big in the USA.
But still, cute clip.
(sorry just had to vent that)
