This is actually probably a depiction of the ancient story of Joo Rim Hoon, a hero of Korean folklore who crushed the demon of ignorance (the thing that looks like a baby) beneath his calloused feet (it was supposed to be poisonous to the touch, the skin on his feet was too tough).
