If you'd ask me for a movie with great swordfights, I'd immediately respond, "The Princess Bride." But James Rummel, a connoisseur of the genre, has others that you may not be aware of. The above scene is from The Mark of Zorro, a 1940 film with excellent theatrical combat. I especially like the final moment.
Kind of interesting when you consider that Basil Rathbone was an expert swordsman in real life. Since he ususally played the villain in sword movies, he was obliged to lose these fights onscreen even though he could have demolished his opponent if the fight were for real.
