In Which Nation Is Beer the Cheapest? USA! USA! USA!

Well, of course! Our national anthem began as a drinking song. That's the stock we come from. Behold our awesomeness:

Analysts at UBS, a Swiss bank, have calculated that it takes a German earning the national median wage just under seven minutes of work to purchase half a litre of beer at a retail outlet. At the bottom of the pint glass, low wages and high taxes mean that boozers in India must toil for nearly an hour before they have earned enough to quench their thirst.

We, the US, does not have the cheapest beer. I'm not sure you read this graph correctly. The price of beer is actually the cheapest (based on wages and retail price) in Nigeria for .54 / 500ML. The graph states the length of time worked to earn enough to purchase said beer.

Just because the US earns the beer faster does not mean that it is the cheapest. The US above the average price of beer, but well below the time it takes to earn it.
