Spaghetti Ice Cream



This culinary wonder isn't spaghetti, but an ice cream sundae made to look like it. Spaghetti eis is a German creation dating back to the 60s. It consists of vanilla ice cream formed into noodles and topped with strawberry syrup.

It's actually my favourite sundae ... I've seen icecream versions of lasagna (with blueberry,raspberry and other berries), spaghetti carbonara (done with vanilla icecream and egg liqueur) and tagliatella (hazelnut icecream with chocolate sirup) on some menues!

That's sad.
This is the very simplest most rudimentary sundae here in Germany. It's on every single ice cream parlor menu.

I was somewhat disappointed as a little kid, when I discovered you just spoon from top to bottom, no noodle swirling...
