Coca-Cola, aware that its signature product was being poured into plastic bags in Central America, will now provide biodegradable Coke bottle-shaped bags from which to sip. Who knows? Maybe Coke-in-a-bag will catch on in the U.S. too! -via Gizmodo

"Update: According to Inhabitat, Coca-Cola has released an official statement claiming the video is fake and the company has no plans to introduce or sell its products in plastic bags."
Jeez I miss milk in a bag. I can't find it anywhere here on Vancouver Island (BC, Canada). It's a weird product to anyone not from Canada but it does have a longer fridge life and easier to recycle since most recycle places here still don't accept milk jugs or cartons. I'm not sure about pop in a bag though. The warmth from your hands, having to hold it all the time, the disappointment that is flat pop...
Of course we know cups joseph, but: 1. cups are more expensive than a plastic bag. 2. this technique is mostly used in schools (with kids)and they're always runing and playing and a cup spills, a bag doesn't. 3. It is also used for example when your mom sends you to the store for a coke, and there goes the kid runing, and they give the kid the coke in a bag closed with a knot, instead a cup that spills.
Oh man I can’t wait to see one of those here in El Salvador. It’s been years since the last time I drank a coca cola in a bag but when I was a child that was the only way to go since cans where so expensive. No way was I going to pay $0.50 cents for a can when I could get the same drink in a bag for like 12 cents.

I would prefer bottles with refundable deposit...
