Star Trek Shuttlecraft Prop Sells at Auction for $70,000

The Galileo has seen better days, but after a solid restoration job, it should serve as a solid commuter vehicle. Kiko Auctions sold this 1:1 scale prop from the original Star Trek series last week after a fierce last-minute bidding war.

I'd rather make a scratch one as a cabin. It's just about the right size.

With the amount of restoration worked needed on it, it might have been cheaper to just build a new one from scratch, but I suppose the fact that it's genuine prop is a big part of the value.
