I don't know what's happening and I don't know what it's for, but I just can't stop watching! Here's a ring rolling machine from a Chinese forge making a red-hot glowing steel ring. I suspect you haven't seen anything like it, either.

Probably a slew ring for an excavator. Gear teeth would be cut in it following the rolling. (& cooling)

They're mainly used for bearing races, flanges, and valve seat rings.

Actually i have seen this video before I had to watch it(along with many other manufacturing videos) in a manufacturing processes class I recently took.
