In this Kamigamo Shrine Distance Illusion, Ritsumeikan University professor of psychology (and master optical illusionist) Akiyoshi Kitaoka asks: what is the middle point between A and B? X, Y or Z?
LinkIt's a misleading question. Is he asking the midpoint between points A and B in 3D reality or in the 2D line in the photo? His answer makes clear that it's the latter, but using a photo suggests we should be taking depth into account. So it's not really an illusion so much as a trick question.

It would help if the arrows actually pointed to the spots he wants us to consider. A is (apparently) actually in the bottom left corner.
