Since I'm a big fan of that travellin' culinary man Anthony Bourdain, I was excited to hear that he'd soon be adding mythical beasts to his menu.
Then I found out that he was only joking around with a young lady, who asked him how he'd cook a unicorn at the Great GoogaMooga Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
Here's his response:
He would roast the loin, grill the legs, braise the forequarter and use the horn to pick your teeth with after the meal. For the record, unicorn marrow is delicious, he says.
I wonder how the little girl reacted to his ideas on how to prepare a unicorn?

I find the guy insufferable. His unprovoked attacks on other people just make him seem mean-spirited, a notion borne out by the outtakes he imprudently showed on one of his episodes. He came across as imperious and overly demanding for a guy who just travels around and eats.

I'm curious how much of that is an on camera persona and how much is his actual personality. I saw an episode where he was making fun of an inexperienced producer for not catering to his every desire. But it came off as poking fun at himself for being overly demanding. Was that his intention? I don't know. He does seemt to have genuine respect for the people and cultures he encounters even if some of them aren't to his personal preference.
