Anders Behring Breivik is currently on trial in Oslo, Norway, for killing 77 people during a rampage last summer. In a square near the courthouse, around 40,000 people gathered today to refute Breivik's stated opinions by singing the song "Children of the Rainbow," which was made famous by Norwegian singer Lillebjoern Nilsen (who led the crowd in Oslo). The song was adapted from the Pete Seeger song "My Rainbow Race" (lyrics). Breivik had mentioned the song as an object of his scorn. The demonstration was organized through an internet campaign, and other groups sang in cities all over Norway. Link -via Metafilter

Boy, if that doesn't bring tears to your eyes, nothing will.

I'm home sick. I feel awful. After that song and all those swaying people, I feel much better thank you.
