Coney Island has gone through a lot of changes in the past couple of decades, but it still has its charm. Neatoramanaut Robert Kolodny made this love letter to the Brooklyn seaside neighborhood. -Thanks, Robert!
My family comes from the Brighton Beach/Coney Island area; I spent a lot of my childhood there, as did my dad when he was a kid. His fav ride was the Parachute, which was closed long before I got a chance to try it. As for me, it was a toss-up between the Cyclone (of course) and the Carousel that used to be there - twas the only one I ever rode that one could actually grab the rings on. And if you got the gold ring? Free ride.
