If you put milk in your eggs, you'll get scrambled eggs. An omelet won't hold together well with milk in it.

According to this diagram, things that are both milk and flour are batter. Makes perfect sense to me.

Muzition - flour and milk together do make batter (not cake batter, batter used to coat meats, etc. before frying them). You can add spices and stuff, but the 2 basic ingredients to batter are flour and milk.
