The entire town of Buford, Wyoming, is for sale. Despite what the picture shows (it's from 2006), there is only one resident. Don Sammons is retiring, so several buildings, ten acres of land, a zip code, and a high-altitude view are all going on the auction block. Bidding will start at $100,000, which sounds like a steal. How does somewhere with one resident count as a town? Seriously it shouldn't even count as a hamlet.

Hey, my husband is retired and would kill to live in a place like that. I, however, would require internet access for work.

Yeah, it's a steal, but then you live in Buford! Not sure that would be worth it...

Seems like all one has to do is wait till Buford's sole resident either expires or moves away ... then you can have the town for free!

Yeah, I think that picture angle was the most exciting one they could manage.

Hah! I've actually stopped in Buford at that gas station. It's a pretty remote stretch of country and the winters are pretty impressively desolate.
