Tracked Hunting Wheelchair - Neatorama

When Tim Swenson's sixteen-year old son was paralyzed in a car accident, he lost the ability to move through the woods and fully enjoy his outdoor lifestyle. So Swenson developed a heavy duty tracked wheelchair that can go over almost any terrain. Some models sold by his company come with accessories for hunters, such as built-in rifle rests.

This one would've worked way better than the half-track Richard Hammond came up with for that "All-Terrain Mobility Scooter Challenge" on Top Gear a couple weeks ago.

@Fae: Hunting's not so much about the food as it is about the activity. They're not taking pictures of themselves holding up their bear burgers and venison beside the barbecue.

They're showing off their prey, saying, "See this dead animal? I killed it."

I'm not against hunting myself. It's just definitely not for me.

The guy became paralyzed and he enjoyed hunting. Maybe eddy p would just sit at home and feel sorry about himself. I give props to the kid and his dad for getting him back into what he loves to do.

Hunting is a common, popular, and legal practice. Hunting is normal. Fantasizing about the suicide of people who engage in it is not.

I prefer to get my meat at the supermarket where they grow it from seed in nice styrofoam containers. But if that guy insists on getting his meat from animals, who am I to question is antiquated ways?

I'd prefer the caption "Always wear proper eye and ear protection while using firearms."

The caption should read something like this: "Even though I suffered a devastating and debilitating injury that normally would have raised my awareness of the preciousness of life, health, and being humane, I said f... it to all that and got me a mini-track so I can take my sorry ass out to the woods and shoot a bunch of rabbits, squirrels and deer. And with this scoped sniper rifle, I never miss. It's great!"

Call me sensitive but I hate it when websites post photos of dead animals like this. Maybe I'd be interested in the overall message of the article if not for the awful picture. I understand that hunting has its place I just don't want to see it first hand. I just don't enjoy the casualness of tossing a picture like this as if nobody would rather avoid seeing it.
